  • marginalized and tried to silence woman and the way a translator is viewed in the realm of translation studies.


Q. Why are the same text being translated again and again?

  • Each translation differs from others because of many reasons- sometimes political, linguistic, sometimes interpretational, sometimes cultural.
  • Though every translator is a different individual having his or her own ideological position and context which determines the way the translator reads and interprets a particular text.
  • therefore there is a need to evaluate the different translations to understand the text in a much better fashion.


Q. What the Dalit writer and other scholars stared writing about the Dalit to make the world know about the Dalits? 

  • The atrocities that they have suffered.
  • The humiliation that were a part of their everyday life.
  • The way they are being treated worse than animals with in the Chaturvarna system.
  • The way in which they need to educate themselves as Ambedkar talked about.
  • The way they need to come together as a force and agitate against the Brahminical forces.
  • The way they need to assert their rights as provided in the Constitution of India.

  • When one comes on the topic of “translation and cast” one naturally wonders what the relationship between the two is.
  • In the recent years we have seen that the writing has been taking shape in a much more coherent  from under the presence of the writers from the Dalit community.
  • To understand the notion of dalit one needs to understand the nature and length of the sufferings and traumas that Dalit suffered for ages.
